photographer must read

I just read an article online RE: my photographer JMK in Lackawanna. Looks like they stiffed 20 or more of their brides and no one got any pictures or albums. They got fined $10,000 but the brides got nothing. I am going to book with another photographer and I will loose my deposit but so what. Everyone needs to be real careful when planning a wedding. They were part of a "Bridal Association", a lot of good that did. I guess that doesn't really mean anything. Check references. Talk to other brides and use real businesses not someone who will meet with you at a coffe shop like they did with me. I am just glad I found out sooner than later. Good luck.

I'm going with Rob Sigler Photography - his studio is in Jamestown but travels to Buffalo for weddings. We did a ton of research not only on the business but also on all the photos that different photographers have and Rob's are absolutely the most professional and best looking. My fiancee is THE MOST PICKY person I know and he knows photography (huge hobby - TONS of expensive photo gear) and Rob was the only photographer who's pictures impressed him. None of the other places we looked at even came close. I'm sure for an untrained eye (like mine) there are places that will do just fine but from a trained perspective, Rob Sigler won out. (He does mostly candid photos with the typical traditional shots, not all cheesy posed shots like a bunch of the ones I was seeing).

I have to agree with the Lakeview photo poster.They did my wedding and we were very pleased with everything. Their pricing is a little higher than some on this site but well worth the extra money. Pictures looked fantastic, they provided everything we wanted and then some.

Im using BKM Photography. He is very nice and professional. I didnt even look at other photographers.

They have done so many of my friends weddings and always do an amazing job, They have a studio in williamsville check them out!

We are using Lakeview Photography. They have been in business doing weddings for a very long time here in buffalo. Pricing I thought was reasonable around $2500 & we do not have to worry about them they do a fantastic job. The work speaks for itself and the references did as well. Remember get references.

Yes JMK is getting sued for not giving wedding pictures!! Can you imagine? Your main day and no pictures (professional) anyways to remember it.

I'm using Fischer Creative Imaging, a little pricey but they are faboulous…actually, let me restate that…very pricy!! but good, and you won't have to worry about whehter or not you will get pics lol

Im not sure of the JMK deal but yes, I agree, check the Better Business Bureau and go with recommendations. I personally will pay more to be sure Im getting quality services and items. I will not deal with anyone out of a house or who has been in business less than 2 or 3 years. You real do have to be careful out there. Sometimes cheap prices, "free" stuff etc is a red flag.
