need input
Hi, so my fiance and will be together 7 years this Christmas engaged 2years. We met when we were younger and now are in our early twenties..hes two years older. Anyways, I know with all my heart he is the man I want to marry. I will be done with college soon and will hopefully be hired from my externship or find a job soon after. He has been working at his current job for a little over 2 years. I know that we need to save up for the future/wedding...school completely drained my savings. This is the only reason for me that we wont be getting married really soon...I feel like he doesnt bring up starting to make rough wedding plans (no date set), or seems to push it off or not be in the "mood" to talk about it. I didnt force him to ask me to marry him..I wanted HIM to want to ask me and he did. I bring up subtle things relating to a wedding now and then...but not constantly. Like yesterday for example, he was not feeling good and that tends to be the only time he likes to cuddle and he was being cute and kept telling me he loved me. I was like OMG if you say that 1 more time im going to take you down to city hall and marry u right now (joking around...but I would totally marry him). He said something like no we dont even have the money to move in together, which ruined the moment. I REALIZE we need to save up for the future asap (I was always putting money into my savings but college has drained my savings...and he hasnt been much of a saver), before we can get married etc. I agree with that I would just like to have some kind of idea of a wedding date! I really am hoping for summer 2012, that would give us about a 1 yr and 4 months to save up to move in together and for a wedding (this is taking into consideration if takes me 3 months to find a job after I finish college). He lives with his father who I feel like takes advantage of him sometimes (he is never happy with the money my fiance gives him), so he really hasnt had the extra money to put toward saving. Yes his dad can get on my nerves and be a real jerk sometimes...putting us down sometimes. I know I love him and know he loves me...,but I hate that he doenst talk about plans...I dont feel like im rushing into things either...I want to marry him not just anyone. I WOULD APPRECIATE INPUT!

How large will your wedding be? Are you able to consider something intimate and less expensive? Maye your fiance will be willing to move faster when he sees a manageable figure that can be reached over time. I have a friend that had a very limited budget and so they lmited their attendee list to 25 people. If you do this off season, you could save even more. Maybe once you have a figure in mind, you can put together a monthly plan for saving money that you can start using as soon as you have a job. Then share it with him and see if he thinks it is reachable or if he thinks it needs changes. Sometimes I feel like men respond better when things are presented like a business plan :)
