WHEN to have rehearsal dinner?!

Hi,
So I was thinking ahead and was wondering is there a rule of when you are supposed to have the rehearsal dinner? I was in a wedding a few months ago and everything was so last minute and chaotic! We had a rehearsal at the church at like 630pm,then ate at like 8 or 830ish and were there for a while, and then the bride made the girls go to the reception site that was not super close to set up and decorate and we did not leave there until after midnight. Then we drove all the way back to her house that was 30-45 minutes away and I did not get any sleep at all! SO...I was wondering if you can havae the rehearsal dinner a few days before the wedding? I KNOW the day before will be crazy and want to be all set for the BIG day! I also was thinking of having it earlier in the day before the wedding but people have to work ugh lol. Thanks

I decided to do my rehearsal two days before the wedding. I don't see any reason why you can't do it a few days ahead of time. The less stress leading up to your day, the better!

If you're entire wedding party is local, and it's convenient for everyone, you can have the rehearsal dinner the week before. Just make sure it's okay with whoever is performing the ceremony. Usually, it's done the day before the wedding (usually a Friday night) because the members of the wedding party come from out of town and stay the weekend.
