Is this a good centerpiece idea?

Well im sure its been done before, well I have not personally seen it but, anyways I was thinking of making my own centerpieces . I wanted something simple to do and inexpensive because if you have like 20 tables it can get expensive! So am thinking about getting some type of glass bowl/vase container from the dollar tree and filling it with water and those blue gems, and placing a few maybe blue tea light candles floating on top (I think those are the right kind they float right?! lol) Anyways the only thing I was thinking of was will the candles be okay for the whole time, is it safe? Thanks

from what i have been told by florists and our banquet manager, tealight candles are the longest lasting. they only need to last until dinner ends, because after that the attention will be on the dance floor.

That is a good idea and your candles should be fine. If you put the bowls on mirrors and put votive candles holders on those that will also make it look pretty. Talk to the place where you are having your reception. A lot of times they will have stuff that you can use. Another idea is to get a higher standing skinny vase, fill with water, glass stons on bottom and submerged flowers...that looks great as well and is inexpensive.
