COST of things etc....?!

Hi, I was just wondering from others experience how much does it usually cost per person (mid priced wedding), for food, alcohol, and reception fees per person? I have no idea what is the average so I DONT know whether I am getting a DEAL or Not when looking at places. I am going to be looking into the Lancaster ELKS lodge and possibly also having my ceremony there. Also, has anyone released DOVES at their wedding, and where can you find doves and how much does it cost? Since I might have my ceremony and reception at the same place I dont know if that could work for me? ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO SAVE SOME MONEY AND WHAT I REALLY DO NOT NEED TO BOTHER WITH? THANKS :)

we are having reception at the ironworker west seneca hall. they do a TON of weddings
price for sit down family style was 29.95 (we booked before the first of the year) now its around $33 per plate.
that was the cheapest i could find.
their prices include all taxes! 6 hr reception, dessert table, CJ sound has built in entertainmen system there so if you go with them no big speakers everywhere.
it is a really nice hall for the price, other places can run around $30 per plate for buffet but then you have to add in tax which is crazy! good luck ;)
