Negotiating A Better Price For Reception

Has any one negotiated a better price for the reception? What points did you use to get a better price. Any suggestions would be great as I'm at a complete loss as to what to say to try to get a better deal.

I have been to Classics V for many events. My sister got married there many years ago and my wedding is going to be there in October!.......They are a great family to work with !

Not sure about negotiating a better price but Friday nights are cheaper. Just wondering has anyone ever been to a reception at Classic V?

Yes - I was able to negotiate a better price by being honest with the catering coordinator. We just told them that we only have X amount of money to pay for the reception, and we were willing to personalize the menu (i.e. beer & wine only vs. open bar, skip the beef entree, skip the champagne toast) to meet this price point. Turned out that our reception hall was able to cut the site rental fee in half and keep the meal prices the same!

I did not negotiate for my upcoming wedding because I am not very good at it. I did ask about Friday wedding discounts. I am receiving free appetizers or bar upgrade for my Friday wedding. Someone suggested to me that if you purchase something extra ask them to throw in something extra as well. For example... I will pay for an extra hour of the bar if you throw in a free fondue station. Hopefully that works out for you! :-) Good luck
