caterer
Anyone know of a good caterer? I am having my reception at the Castle in Tonawanda and I need a caterer. Any ideas?

We were going to have our reception at the Castle but decided against it for a couple reasons (kitchen facilities and lack of handicap accessibility mostly). I would check with which ever caterer to see if they are cooking on site or bringing it in. I ended up going with Frontier Catering but there would have been additional costs due to lack of adequate facilities. If you're having a caterer just bring the cooked food in, it shouldn't be a problem. I do know that outside catering is allowed (I asked) but you do pay a building rental fee, which varied depending on how many floors and rooms you decide to use. Linda was great to work with though!

The castle allows any caterer of your choice however they must be licensed. I am using Rich products and they are fantastic to work with. They take care of everything for you like a planner would. If your looking to cut costs, Linda at the castle has a list of caterer's that she has used before there and if it's not a large guest list the castle can handle the catering. The castle does handle the beverage service themselves. One thing that we would have never thought of when looking for a caterer, except Linda mentioned it, is make sure they have a floor manager overseeing the event for the catering. Some caterer's do not and are relying on the servers for the night. Linda usually responds to emails fairly quickly lindac@tonawandacastle.com. p.s. DO NOT use Avi Catering!!! Horrible Horrible experience with him at a wedding he did at the Del Park Casino. Some other suggestions are Chef Bing @ Luccarelli's, Oliver's, frontier catering...all have been recommended. Hope this helps.

If you are doing it at the Tonawanda Castle on Delaware I think the exclusive caterer is Rich's and I know that at that facility the castle is responsible for the bar. Good luck!
