ceremony/reception at firehall? broadway
Hey, I was wondering do you think it would be okay to have my ceremony/reception at a firehall? See my aunt and uncle are volunteer firefighters and they, as well as my other aunt and her husband got married there a while ago. When they got married they had adult only weddings so I was too young back then attend. It can hold up to 300 something people, and you can rent like a decorated arch and stuff for the ceremony. I am still waiting to here back since they were supposed to let me know if we can use it after a meeting they were going to have there. I heard from family members it was pretty nice, and would like to look at it with my fiance if we can get it. Also, it would help out financially because it shouldnt cost more than a few hundred to rent. I would appreciate input. Thanks :)

Yes, of course, especially if that's what's in your budget. Check out Buffalo Party Rental, Balloon Masters,
and on ebay, a store called Impressive Occasions, they have gadgets for hanging things from ceilings.
Check out Shindigz, Anderson's Prom, and Stumps Prom on the web . . . consider using gossomer to hang from
walls. Check with the hall about using tacks, tape, etc. and what they do and don't allow. Consider renting nice linens and candleabras for the head table and decorate the guest book table and cake table and gift table nicely . . . consider using
a canopy for the cake table. Make sure guests have a place to hand their coats, and that they know about it
and USE it. Coats on the back of chairs make the room look sloppy. Also, at the end of the summer, consider
buying a garden bench (or rent one) and getting a ficus tree, and using it to create a "photo corner", a place where
you and the guests can pose for family photos. This spot should have nice lighting and there should be no vents,
plaques, trophies, exit signs, or anything else that can detract from the photo. . . .this would be a good place to
hang gossamer to hide a cinderblock wall or old wood panels. Good Luck!
You asolutely can!

Of course you can have your wedding at a firehall! This is your day and you can do whatever you want! This is definitely a way to cut down on cost, especially for liquor! You can also decorate everything the way you want and give it your personal touch. The only downside is that you would mostlikely have to do all of the set up and break down yourself. I have a large family so I have had several aunts and uncles have weddings at firehalls, this way EVERYONE can be invited and it won't cost you an arm and a leg!
