Beware - Concerened bride to be

I thought this board was for brides to converse about wedding plans. Hey Jay if you want to advertise pay like the professional photographers do and get off our board.

Beware of the "Shoot and burn" photographer packages. Just got our finished album back from Creative in
Hamburg and the work that was done was something I could never do. It was worth the investment
We spent around $2800 and it was worth every cent

good photography at an affordable price - Jay Terkel Photography

I have been photographing weddings in western NY for 30 years. My prices start at $600 and go up . I will photograph the wedding, put all the pictures online, and give you an album of 4x5 prints. Then everything is on an ala carte system. So if you do not want to spend any more, that's fine. You can order a few extra prints, a traditional matted album, a new coffee table book, or just get all the images on a CD with a letter of copyright release. In this digital age, a photographer has much more options for you. As do a lot of venders, I offer discounts for non - Saturday and off peak season weddings. So that is a way to save too. If you have any questions, feel free to contactl me at 585-599-4565, jayterkel@gmail.com; www.jayterkelphotography.net

Prices starting at $1500 and can go as high as $3500. It will depend on if you want your negatives. The price will increase also if you upgrade your wedding album.
Lakeview has been in business for a long time in Buffalo and they advertise on this site as well.
The response time is amazing in turn around from selection to final products. Great photographer.
I spoke to Mike when I was getting married before I went to any other photographer. He told me what to expect and he was right. I went to a different photographer to save some money but the service was bad.
My sister booked Lakeview and she received her pictures (negatives) within two weeks. Mike still smirks when I tell him how long I had to wait for my pictures. I helped my sister put her album together and we had such a great time. Her husband was watching Mikes HULU on his Apple while we worked.

Lovely Day Photography

We were just recently married and chose Melissa Parrish of Lovely Day Photography. We found her prices to be competitive, but also affordable. When it came to photography we were willing to spend what it took to get a photographer which you trusted. At the end of the day you have lots of memories, but the pictures are what you will have for a lifetime. Her style is photojournalistic and we hardly even noticed she was there. We mingled with our family and friends and she captured every minute of it.

Her website is lovelydayphotography.com

It all depends on what you want. Some photographers will come to the wedding and shoot the wedding and
a few portraits for $600-$900 . . . but you just receive a disc afterwards. You can edit the photos, and make
your own albums. However, they usually don't go to the bride's home, the reception, etc for photos. If you
know someone who knows how to use photo editing software, and you have someone to take photos of
the bride and bmaids putting on their makeup, the dress, etc and have a few people take photos at the reception,
this is certainly cheaper. This is also a good option for people who may not want the "full package" . . . older
brides, 2nd time brides, couples that really aren't fond of having their photo taken. Check out the websites
for this option. Usually you get the photographer for a set time (2 hours?) or 2 events (the wedding, poses outside the church). Some photographers are very flexible, some insist on the 'full package'. Obviously, if you just
want a few photos and a few formal shots, and you're handy with photoshop, this is the way to go.

Our choice (A Lakeview Photography) - Erin

I also started by checking websites and photographers styles. We looked at Nickel city studio, Robert Knight, Expressions Studio and A Lakeview photography. John and I met with all of them in that order. We saved the best for last as it turned out. Mike at LakeView Photography (www.alakeviewphotography.com) was super. The pricing was inline & in some cases cheaper than the others. When we called we received fast response and after meeting with him decided right there he was the one to photograph our wedding. He also does his own work and will not use assistants or part time photographers ( that was important to us ). Mike asked us what we wanted not like the others who tried to push their style on us. All I can tell you is who you feel comfortable with is the one. The price is important but so is the service.

I'm finding that the cheapest packages are about $1500 and can go upwards to $6-$7. I'm using Nickel City Studios (www.nickelcitystudios.com) b/c the owners, Rich and Alyssa, are super nice, easy to work with and have good deals! Plus they both do your wedding on your day...they don't have assistants! Check them out! But I was so lost at first...just start checking out people's websites to see what kind of style you like. I also looked at:
