reception site/others- Does anyone have opinion?

My fiance and i visited Klocs. The only thing we're wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences with bad DJ music since you have to stick with their DJ. Someone told me they went to a reception and the music sort of sucked especially for the price of $600 for 3 hrs. What im even more upset about and called them was they are charging 20$ per person for alcohol or 16$ for just beer and wine which includes gratuity but is still more expensive than most places ive looked at. I love the look of the place being that i like the garden look and we want to get married outside. Can anyone give me any feedback? We want to get married outside and dont want anything pricey since we're paying for the wedding and everything else ourselves. Any other suggestions?

I visited Kloc's and found them to be expensive - if you can afford Shanghai Red's, they are my favorite (56/pp). I liked Glen Oak Country Club alot, but it's not big enough for my party (200+). They have a beautiful gazebo, a nice outdoor patio off of the dining room, and a gorgeous bridal suite that could accomodate your whole wedding party. They are definitely cheaper than Kloc's or Shanghai.

I didn't really care for O'Brien's Grove, but it seems to be a popular choice, also.

still water is crazy expensive! for the cheapest dinner-sit down its $38.00 a person and that does not include alcohol! if you want a 4hr bar with call liquor thats an additional $27.00 per person which is a grand total of $65.00 a person! YIKES!!!

$30 pp including alcohol? If so, that is a fabulous deal!!

Try The Stillwater. The old Lord Chumleys. 483 Delaware Ave. Our package was about $30pp. 884-9283.

I have found that there is a great difference in bar packages from place to place. At my wedding reception at we are getting the Delux bar (top shelf liquor) at $14 per person. I think, compared to what others are asking, it's VERY reasonable. You might want to look into that.

We like the garden look and we want to get married outside as well. My sister was married at Samuels and her photographer LakeView Photography got some great pictures in the front and back lawn space . Her ceremony was in the back in the gazebo another great place but the best part when we looked at both places was that the ceilings are higher in Samuels than in Klocks when you are inside. We are doing a June 09 wedding there the same way she did. Great results

Delaware Park Casino is a great option for indoor/outdoor. Also, since you're already looking at the Southtowns with Kloc's, try the Avanti Mansion in Hamburg.

As I originally thinking klocs grove but it was to far and we are doing an 4 hour open bar, we also want to do a indoor out door ceremony/ reception, here are the places I looked at, delaware casino...www.buffaloolmstedparks.org,, the botanical gardens are reasonable, depending on the hours you choose, samuels grande manor, also the science meuseum of buffalo has receptions on they even have a rooftop cocktail hour, last but not least my choice, Shanghi Reds is beautiful its a indoor outdoor venue by the marina in downtown buffalo depending on the room you choose the deposit is anywhere from 500-1000
