Beaver Hollow Conference Center - reviews? Wilderness reception locations?

Has anyone heard anything about Beaver Hollow near Darien, NY? It looks like a great facility online (I'm in VA, so can only search the web), although they have high minimum's for my budgest ($10k for Fri/Sat, $5k for Sun). Just wondering if it's worth it. If not, does anyone know of another "wilderness-type" location for a ceremony and reception? I'd like a reception that's outdoors, but not under a tent. I'm thinking I should look at Kloc's too. The Glen Iris in Letchworth would be beautiful, but lots of rental costs for an outdoor reception - and I don't know where the guests would stay. Any feedback appreciated!

Klocs Dj and price for alcohol-does anyone know?

My fiance and i visited Klocs and we absolutely fell in love with it. The only thing we're wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences with bad DJ music since you have to stick with their DJ. Someone told me they went to a reception and the music sort of sucked especially for the price of $600 for 3 hrs. What im even more upset about and called them was they are charging 20$ per person for alcohol or 16$ for just beer and wine which includes gratuity but is still more expensive than most places ive looked at..even Salvatores. I love the look of the place being that i like the garden look and we want to get married outside. Can anyone give me any feedback?

The Glen Iris overlooks one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Letchworth Park. Its not only a perfect place for the wedding, but the pictures and the reception.

We just went to a wedding at Kloc's in July and it was BEAUTIFUL! I really liked it. We were outdoors the entire time with another wedding going on inside. It's fully covered incase it rains. The only apparent downside that I saw was that you have to book their DJ.

I actually just drove down there about a week ago to take a look at it for our wedding! It is absolutely beautiful and the staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. It has a great "camping" feel, but with all the modern comforts and would be an excellent place for a wedding (about 30 minutes from the airport). Right now, it's my favorite place and I would love to have our wedding there. The only problem is the cost factor which must be carefully weighed. It seems like you pay more, but you get SO MUCH in return. If would like any specifics, just email them or even ask me... if there's some way I can send you the information that I have, I would.

The overnight rooms there are like typical hotel rooms, with the exception of the "villas." The biggest villa (aka bridal suite) is huge (we only got to look through the window as the bride had just left and it wasn't cleaned up yet). They do a bon fire every night and you can order a keg of beer and munchies for it (smores are free). Bocce courts, tennis, basketball, row boats, fishing, trails, the works...

One more negative to consider: one restroom stall in both the mens and womens rooms for the reception.

Good luck and keep us updated... I would love to know what you decide!

don't know too much

Beaver Hollow was highly recommended to me as a great place for something outdoors if that's what you're looking for, but that's all I know about it! Glen Iris is AWESOME...went to a wedding there and even though it rained, the tent has walls and protected us from the elements. I can't imagine how amazing it would've been if it was nice out that day! The food there is great too.
