Cake

I am looking for cake suggestions. Since our wedding will be in Fall and I LOVE Fall colors and flavors, I am looking for a cake that I can do at least one layer flavored pumpkin (preferably with maple frosting) and perhaps one apple cake layer. Does anyone have any local suggestions? Thank you!

Thanks for the suggestions. After the terrible custom service from Butterwood, we went to Ohlson's and Lisa was wonderful. They were extremely accommodating and I'm very happy with our final decision.

I got my wedding cake from Ohlson's bakery in Clarence. The cake looked and tasted great, and Lisa, the owner, was great to work with. They are very accomodating to schedule meetings and tastings as well.

Thanks for the recommendation, but Butterwood is next to impossible to get a hold of to set up a meeting (only communication is via email). Plus, they will only meet with me during the week (tues-fri), early afternoon. After several emails back and forth they offered me one time - 9:30 am this Saturday and I can't make that. Although I'm sure they are a great bakery, it looks like they don't need my business. I'm going to try Ohlson's on Sheridan (Williamsville). I don't know much about them, but they are willing to meet with me.

I would go with Butterwood Desserts hands down. They will cater to whatever you want, and they have delicious desserts. The shop in West Falls (Near Orchard Park/Boston area) has sample cakes and I think I saw a "fallish" one last time I was there.
