wording the invitation
My fiance's father passed away recently, our wedding is next fall. Can we still put his name on the invitation? We are putting the parents names from both sides. It just doesn't feel right not to have his name on it.

I have the same issue and we have decided to put my fiances 's dads name on teh invite....SAMPLE: John Smith son of Mary & the late John Smith Sr. I dont see anything wrong with it. Tradition is pretty much thrown to the wind these days. After all it is still his dad, it would be wierd to say Jason son of Linda smith and leave it at that.

It's not usually done, but instead his name could appear on the program with a remberence poem or other loving words in a special area exclusive to him. Like an entire panel dedicated to hom. But traditional would say including him on the actual invite is inappropriate. But in the end, do what you think is right.
