Glen Oak
Has anyone had or been to a ceremony and or reception at Glen Oak? I put down a deposit last weekend and we are getting married there on May 25, 2008. Just looking for any tips or suggestions for there! Thanks!

We were told that if you have a reception upstairs, the dining room will fit 180 people inside or 230 if you have 180 inside and 50 on the Balcony. We are trying to keep to 170 so we can have everyone inside and I can have my cake inside and not in the entrance area.
There is a $200 charge to have a wedding ceremony at the gazebo and another $75 charge for the setup and removal of 75 chairs for the wedding.
We are getting our pictures there, but the only dissapointing thing is that with all of the gorgeous pictures around the building, you are no longer allowed on the course to take pictures. She told us that if it isn't too busy she will let jus the 2 of us and the photographer go to the closest pond to take pictures. Cross your fingers for me that everyone finishes golfing early!!

I am having my wedding here on July 4th. The reason I booked it was the price. It is one of the nicer places around the area and costs the least out of all the ones I looked at. I hope it isn't cramped for me! My wedding should only be 150 max anyways.

I am considering having my wedding reception there because the price is so right for the location. To the original poster: Do they let you use indoor & outdoor at no extra charge? Will you be taking your photos there as well?

I was there for a wedding last year. Having worked in the hospitality industry for over 10 years, I can tell you that I wasn't impressed. The food wasn't great and the room was really crammed. It was very difficult to see the head table because of the pillars that divide the room. The bride and her family were very pleased with the result and that's really all that matters--her sister is having her wedding there this year as a matter of fact. There are a lot of better places around, but this one is not bad. I've been to far worse places. Sorry, but I have to be honest.

I attended a wedding over the summer there and it was beautiful!
