Ceremony Location

One of the first things my fiance & I knew when we got engaged was that we did not want to have our ceremony at a church. I began my search for a location for our ceremony in March when we first got engaged, now here it is almost October & we are considering getting married at a church. We just haven't had much luck! We are getting married at Glenn Oak in East Amherst. They would allow us to get married around 1PM, like we want, & still have the reception at 6PM. The only problem is that we don't like the idea of having our guest come back twice to the same place. Does anyone have any suggestions of a place that would be available for a wedding ceremony only & could accomodate about 100 people? PLEASE HELP!!

Looking for a Ceremony Site as well - Need help - Sara

I have booked Joseph's Country manor for my reception. We initially were going to our ceremony there as well but I didn't like the set up they would allow for us. Our wedding is Oct. 10 2009 and Joseph's would have us set up outside for the ceremony...mid October Buffalo weather is just WAY too questionable to do that! Any suggestions - other than a church would be greatly appreciated!

We just booked our ceremony at the Avanti Mansion. I guess they will now allow you to just get married there, even if you don't have your reception there. (I actually considered canceling my reception at another facility cuz Avanti is SO BEAUTIFUL)

Avanti's new Japenese Garden ceremony site is INCREDIBLE!!! I've never seen anything else like it before. Check it out!

We are in the same situation except that the Ceremony is at a church at 1PM & the reception is at a banquet place at 6PM. I am just wondering if the guests will decide to come for only one aspect of the day i.e. either the wedding service of the reception because they don't want to spend the whole day on our wedding.

How did yours work out? Did people return for the reception? What did you do in between?

We went to Glen Oak last saturday and put our deposit down for our wedding and reception. We are planning on having the wedding by the gazebo at 430 and the cocktail hour 5-6 and so on. It looked gorgeous but if anyone has any hints or anything about them please let me know! Our wedding is May 25, 2008. Thank you!

Being that we live so close to the Falls we take in for granite, it is one of the seven wonders of the world!!! The fallsview Chapel does a great job and has several locations to choose from. I am actually getting married at the Top of the Falls, Rev. Jim is such a great guy and a huge help! Good Luck
